Terms of Service

Yeudi / Tzedaka.io

Last updated: 15 MAY 2026

1. Who we are and scope of these Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of Yeudi / Tzedaka.io, including the website, mobile/web application, content, listings, donation tools, course tools, event/ticketing tools, host, market, sport, work, travel/map, news and Torah features (together, the “Platform”). The Platform is operated by CONNECT-TZEDAKA GMBH, Reichsratsstraße 11/3, 1010 Wien, Austria (“Yeudi”, “Tzedaka.io”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

By creating an account, browsing, posting, listing, donating, buying, selling, hosting, joining an activity, purchasing a ticket/course, submitting content, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Platform for an organisation, company, charity, creator, host, seller, event organiser or other third party, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that party.

The Platform is designed as an all-in-one Jewish community platform. Except where expressly stated in a separate written agreement, we provide technology, discovery, communication, payment-routing and community tools. We are not the organiser, host, seller, employer, charity, fundraiser, publisher, travel provider, sports club, instructor, professional adviser, guarantor, insurer, trustee, escrow agent, broker, fiduciary or party to transactions between users.

2. Key definitions

“User” means any person or entity using the Platform, including visitors, donors, buyers, sellers, hosts, guests, creators, event organisers, course providers, job posters, freelancers, charities, fundraisers and sports/activity participants.

“User Content” means content, profiles, images, text, videos, listings, campaigns, Tehilim requests, Torah materials, news submissions, reviews, messages, business details, job posts, event pages, course pages, sport/activity listings and other materials uploaded or submitted by users.

“Third-Party Provider” means any user, organisation, creator, seller, host, organiser, business, charity, fundraiser, advertiser, payment provider, map provider, logistics provider or other external party offering or facilitating goods, services, donations, events, content, courses, meals, activities or opportunities through or outside the Platform.

“Fees” means platform fees, payment-processing fees, chargeback fees, taxes and any other amounts shown during a transaction or otherwise applicable under these Terms.

3. Account eligibility and user responsibilities

You must be at least 16 years old to use the general Platform and at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create paid listings, sell goods/services, host guests, organise events, sell courses, receive funds, post jobs, act as a fundraiser, or enter into paid transactions.

You must provide accurate, complete and current information and keep your account credentials confidential.

You are responsible for all activity under your account and for complying with all laws, regulations, tax obligations, licensing rules, consumer-protection rules, food-safety rules, event rules, employment rules, advertising rules, sanctions, anti-money-laundering rules and charity/fundraising rules that apply to you.

We may refuse, suspend, restrict or terminate access, listings, payouts or transactions where we believe there is risk, misuse, fraud, unlawful conduct, policy breach, security concern, chargeback risk, reputational harm, or violation of payment-provider requirements.

4. Platform-only role and no endorsement

The Platform may show listings, charities, campaigns, creators, courses, events, Shabbat/holiday hosts, home-exchange opportunities, businesses, restaurants, shops, sports activities, jobs, freelancers, news, Torah content, maps and directories. Unless expressly marked as our own official content, such material is provided by users or third parties. We do not control and do not guarantee the existence, quality, safety, legality, truthfulness, fitness, kashrut status, religious standard, suitability, qualifications, licensing, insurance, availability, pricing, performance, identity, background, conduct or outcome of any user, listing, event, course, donation campaign, business, host, seller, buyer, guest, organiser, employer, freelancer or activity.

Any verification, badge, review, security layer, moderation, identity check, document check, community check, manual approval, delayed location disclosure, reporting tool, profile information, map listing, content review or fraud-prevention measure is a risk-reduction tool only. It is not a warranty, certification, endorsement, guarantee of safety, guarantee of Jewish status, guarantee of religious observance, guarantee of kashrut, guarantee of halachic compliance, guarantee of legality, guarantee of tax deductibility, guarantee of charity status, guarantee of fundraising compliance, guarantee of financial need, guarantee of identity, or guarantee that no harm will occur.

5. Payments, fees and taxes

General use of the Platform is free unless a paid feature, transaction, ticket, course, product, meal, service, donation, sponsorship, subscription or fee is clearly presented.

Events/tickets in the Travel section/event subsection: we charge a platform fee of 3% for every ticket sold, unless a different fee is shown in writing.

Courses in the Torah Courses subsection: we charge a platform fee of 15% for every course sold, unless a different fee is shown in writing.

Tzedaka/donation transactions: we charge a platform fee of 0% to 7% per donation transaction, as shown during the transaction or agreed with the recipient/campaign owner. Payment-processing fees, currency-conversion fees, chargeback fees, taxes or bank fees may also apply.

Payment services may be provided by Stripe or other payment providers. You agree to comply with their terms. We may rely on payment-provider onboarding, verification, risk monitoring, payout restrictions, refunds, chargebacks and account limitations.

All prices, fees and taxes must be shown truthfully by the relevant seller, organiser, course provider, host or recipient. Users are solely responsible for VAT, income tax, withholding tax, donation receipts, charitable status, invoicing, consumer cancellation rights, accounting and reporting obligations applicable to them.

We may deduct our fees, processing fees, refunds, chargebacks, penalties, reserves, taxes and amounts owed before payout.

6. Donations and Tzedaka section

The Tzedaka section enables users to discover and support donation campaigns, organisations, projects, businesses or individuals. We provide infrastructure and may charge a visible platform fee. Unless expressly stated, we are not the beneficiary, not the charity, not the fundraiser, not the legal recipient, not a trustee and not responsible for the use of funds by a campaign owner or recipient.

Campaign owners and recipients must provide truthful, accurate and lawful campaign information and must use funds only as represented.

Donors are responsible for deciding whether to donate and for conducting their own checks. We do not guarantee that a donation is tax-deductible or that a recipient has official charity/non-profit status.

Donations may be final and non-refundable once processed, except where required by law, stated in a campaign-specific policy, or approved by the recipient/payment provider. Chargebacks and payment disputes may result in account restrictions and recovery of fees.

We may remove campaigns, freeze payouts, request documents, report concerns, or cooperate with authorities/payment providers where fraud, misuse, sanctions risk, illegal fundraising, misleading content or security risk is suspected.

7. Torah section, Tehilim, Daily Express and Courses

Torah, Tehilim, Daily Express and related content are provided for learning, inspiration and community connection. They are not a substitute for asking your own competent rabbinic authority for halachic decisions.

Users and creators who upload or submit Torah content must own the rights or have permission to publish, link, embed or monetise that content. You must respect third-party copyrights, creator credits, YouTube/platform terms and source attribution.

Tehilim requests may include sensitive personal or health-related information. Users should only submit information they have the right to share and should avoid unnecessary personal details. We may edit, moderate or remove requests to protect privacy or safety.

Course creators are responsible for course quality, availability, description, pricing, refunds, support, taxes, qualifications, religious standards, intellectual property rights and compliance with consumer laws. We provide course marketplace infrastructure and may charge a 15% platform fee on course sales.

8. News, startups, directory and live information

News, startup, directory, live, market, security, currency, data or tracker-style information may be aggregated, linked, user-submitted, automated, editorial, third-party, delayed or incomplete. It is for general information only and is not legal, financial, investment, tax, security, emergency, medical or professional advice. You should verify important information directly with authoritative sources before relying on it.

We do not guarantee accuracy, neutrality, completeness, timeliness, uninterrupted availability or continued access to news feeds, external links, directories, startup profiles, live information or data providers. We may remove or update content at any time.

9. Travel, map, directories, businesses and events

The Travel/Map section may include synagogues, kosher/Jewish businesses, restaurants, events, community locations, travel information and directory entries. Listings may be user-generated or third-party sourced. We do not verify all details and do not guarantee hours, availability, kashrut, supervision, safety, accessibility, pricing or suitability.

Event organisers are solely responsible for organising, licensing, permitting, ticketing, admission, venue safety, insurance, crowd management, cancellation/refund policies, age restrictions, accessibility, security, taxes and compliance with applicable laws.

For security-sensitive events, the Platform may support delayed or restricted location disclosure, attendee checks, invite controls or other security measures. These measures reduce risk but do not eliminate risk. Organisers and attendees remain responsible for their own safety decisions and legal/security obligations.

We charge a 3% platform fee on event ticket sales unless otherwise stated. Organisers remain responsible for refund rules, consumer rights, event cancellation, postponed events and disputes with attendees.

10. Host section: Shabbat meals, home hospitality and exchanges

The Host section may allow users to host or join Shabbat meals, holiday meals, home hospitality, home exchanges or related community experiences. We are a platform only. We do not own, inspect, manage, operate, supervise, certify or insure any home, meal, host, guest, arrangement, property, food preparation or meeting. Hosts and guests contract directly with each other, if at all.

Hosts are solely responsible for truthful descriptions, guest eligibility criteria, pricing if any, food safety, allergens, kashrut standards, household conditions, local permits, taxes, insurance, consumer rights, fire safety, property rules, landlord/HOA permissions and compliance with local law.

Guests are solely responsible for deciding whether to attend, communicating needs, allergies, religious/kashrut expectations, accessibility requirements and safety concerns directly with the host, and behaving respectfully and lawfully.

We do not guarantee a host’s identity, Jewish status, halachic observance, kashrut level, home safety, background, character, insurance, legal right to host, or ability to provide any meal/accommodation. We do not guarantee a guest’s identity, conduct or intentions.

Any security measures shown in the Host section, including profile checks, manual review, community verification, identity/document checks, ratings, references, messaging controls, reporting tools, approval workflows, delayed disclosure of address/location or emergency guidance, are provided “as is” and are not a substitute for personal judgment, local law compliance or professional security advice.

Users must not use the Host section for illegal accommodation, unlicensed hotel activity, unsafe food service, discriminatory conduct prohibited by law, harassment, exploitation, trafficking, illegal substances, weapons, sexual services, political extremism, violence, hate, fraud or any unsafe activity.

11. Shop/market section

The Shop/Market section may allow users or businesses to list, buy or sell goods and services. Sellers, not Yeudi, are responsible for the goods/services they offer, including legality, quality, authenticity, delivery, defects, warranties, refunds, consumer rights, product safety, labelling, import/export, customs, taxes and customer support.

We are not the seller of user-listed products unless expressly stated. Buyer-seller contracts are between the relevant buyer and seller.

Prohibited items include illegal goods, counterfeit goods, stolen goods, weapons or regulated weapons, drugs, prescription-only medicines, hazardous materials, hate/extremist content, adult sexual goods where prohibited, surveillance/spyware, and any item restricted by law, payment-provider rules or our policies.

We may remove listings, suspend sellers, hold funds, require proof of authorisation, or cooperate with authorities/payment providers if a listing appears unsafe, unlawful, misleading, infringing or high-risk.

12. Sport section

The Sport section may help users discover, organise or join sports, fitness, social games, groups, clubs, tournaments or activities. We do not organise, supervise, coach, inspect, insure or guarantee any sports activity unless expressly stated. Participation may involve physical injury, property damage, health risks, travel risks, interpersonal risks and other risks.

Users participate voluntarily and at their own risk. You are responsible for your health, fitness, equipment, insurance, transport, permissions and compliance with venue and local rules.

Organisers are responsible for accurate descriptions, participant rules, safety planning, emergency arrangements, venue permission, insurance, age restrictions, safeguarding, qualifications and legal compliance.

We do not provide medical, fitness, safety or professional advice. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.

13. Work/business section

The Work/Business section may include jobs, freelancers, businesses, services and professional opportunities. We are not an employer, recruiter, staffing agency, employment broker, professional certifier or party to work arrangements unless expressly stated. Employers, clients, freelancers and applicants are responsible for due diligence, contracts, employment status, permits, taxes, social-security obligations, invoices, qualifications, background checks, payment, deliverables and compliance with labour, immigration, consumer and professional rules.

14. User Content licence and intellectual property

You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable licence to host, store, reproduce, display, publish, translate, adapt, distribute, promote and otherwise use your User Content as needed to operate, improve, protect and market the Platform and related services.

You represent that you have all rights needed to submit your User Content and that it does not infringe copyright, trademarks, privacy, publicity, database rights, religious institution rights, confidentiality, contract rights or any other rights.

We may remove, edit, restrict, demote or disable content at our discretion, especially where it appears unlawful, misleading, infringing, harmful, unsafe, hateful, discriminatory, violent, extremist, fraudulent, spammy, privacy-invasive, sexually exploitative, defamatory or contrary to community standards.

15. Prohibited conduct

Using the Platform for fraud, scams, money laundering, terrorism financing, sanctions evasion, illegal fundraising, illegal gambling, harassment, hate, threats, violence, extremism, discrimination, stalking, exploitation, trafficking or unsafe conduct.

Posting false, misleading, defamatory, infringing, obscene, privacy-invasive or unlawful content.

Circumventing security, scraping, reverse engineering, overloading systems, introducing malware, using bots without permission, or accessing non-public areas.

Collecting or using users’ personal data outside the Platform without lawful basis and consent where required.

Misrepresenting identity, affiliation, charity status, authorisation, qualifications, religious/kashrut status, event details, product details, financial need or use of funds.

16. Reviews, ratings, messaging and moderation

Reviews, ratings, messages and reports are user-generated and may not be accurate or complete. We may moderate, remove, hide or restrict content and accounts, but we are not obliged to monitor everything. You should report suspected abuse, fraud, safety concerns or rights violations to us promptly.

17. Cancellations, refunds and disputes

Specific refund/cancellation rules may be set by course creators, event organisers, sellers, hosts, campaign owners or applicable law. Unless we are the seller/organiser/provider, disputes about goods, services, events, meals, courses, donations, jobs, activities or listings are between the relevant users. We may assist, mediate, reverse payments, restrict accounts, or make platform decisions, but we are not obliged to do so and do not become liable for user disputes.

Chargebacks, failed payments, fraud claims or payment-provider disputes may result in reversal of payouts, recovery of amounts, account restrictions, reserves or termination. Users are responsible for fees, penalties and losses caused by their conduct or transactions.

18. Third-party services and external links

The Platform may use or link to third-party services such as Stripe, maps, hosting, analytics, video platforms, social platforms, content feeds, logistics, messaging, authentication, app stores or external websites. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, errors, fees, decisions or content.

19. Safety and emergency disclaimer

Jewish community life can involve security-sensitive situations. The Platform may include security-conscious features, but we do not provide professional security services and do not guarantee safety. Users must exercise independent judgment, follow local guidance, take appropriate precautions, avoid unsafe situations, and contact local emergency services or authorities where needed.

20. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform and all content, listings, transactions, security tools and services are provided “as is” and “as available”. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, security, uninterrupted access, error-free operation, suitability, legality and safety. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law.

21. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of goodwill, loss of data, loss of opportunity, personal injury, property damage, emotional distress, reputational harm, failed donations, failed events, failed courses, failed listings, user conduct, third-party acts, payment-provider decisions, chargebacks, external content, or unauthorised access, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Platform will be limited to the greater of: (a) the platform fees you paid to us, excluding amounts paid to third-party providers, in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) EUR 100. This limitation does not apply where mandatory law prohibits such limitation.

22. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless us, our directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates and partners from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your User Content, listings, transactions, events, courses, meals, hosting, products, services, donations, fundraising, jobs, sports activities, breach of these Terms, violation of law, violation of third-party rights, tax obligations, chargebacks, or disputes with other users or third parties.

23. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict or terminate access, content, listings, transactions, payouts or accounts at any time where we believe it is necessary to protect users, the Platform, payment systems, legal compliance, security, reputation or third-party rights. You may stop using the Platform at any time. Provisions that by nature should survive termination will survive, including payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnities, intellectual property, dispute provisions and records needed for compliance.

24. Changes to the Platform or Terms

We may modify the Platform and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated where legally required. Continued use after changes become effective means acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Platform.

25. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Austria, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer-protection rules give you additional rights in your country of residence. Subject to mandatory consumer rights, the courts competent for Vienna, Austria will have jurisdiction. Consumers may also have access to mandatory dispute-resolution or consumer-protection mechanisms under applicable law.
